Lullean W. "Memaw" Finch

Lullean W. "Memaw" Finch, 72, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009.

  

Born in Thomas County, March 18, 1936, she grew up in Ochlocknee, Ga., and had lived in Dawson County for 12 years having moved from Cumming.

  

Mrs. Finch was a loving wife for 52 years and was a secretary for the worker's union, CWA Local 3250 and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and played the role of Mrs. Clause at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall beside her husband for 3 years.

  

Her mother, Eloise Weeks; father, Charlie Weeks; and brother, C.W. Weeks preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her husband, Irrel Finch of Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Reneé and Charles Downs of Dawsonville; son, Charles E. Finch of Alpharetta; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Ed Ballentine of Hiram; grandchildren, Kelly Watley of Cumming, C.J. Finch of Dawsonville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Willard Bearden of Ballground; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Gravitt officiating.

  

The remains were taken to New Pentecost Methodist Church in Winder. Interment then followed in the church cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
