Lula Townsend, 79, of Cumming, died Feb. 4, 2017.
Born March 4, 1937, to the late Robert and Bessie Hubbard, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County.
Lula was a homemaker and was very devoted to her family.
She enjoyed gardening, NASCAR and all types of racing.
She was a lifelong resident of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Her daughter, Tammy Townsend; sisters, Lillie Mae Daniel, Annie Maude Holbrook; brothers, L.B.
Hubbard, Eldon Hubbard and Junior Hubbard, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Tommy Townsend of Cumming; children, Lisa and Danny Duff of Dawsonville, Joel and Melanie Townsend of Cumming; grandchildren, Dana and Brendan Murphy, Darren and Kim Duff; great-grandchildren, Amy Duff, Terence Murphy, Connor Murphy; sister and brother-in-law, Willise and Jim Bennett of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary English and Rodney Pilcher officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
