Lorena Stanley Alexander, 86, of Alto, died March 30, 2016.

Granny Lorena was born on Aug. 15, 1929 in Banks County to the late Earl and Ethel Lottie Wade Davidson.

She was the widow of the Willie M. Stanley.

She was a member of The Refuge Worship Center.

Granny was a farmer and homemaker, known for "Granny's canning," cakes and fried pies.

She was a living testimony as a Godly woman. She was the backbone of the family.

Her siblings, Rosie, Talmadge, Dora Lee and Leon; grandson, Ron Dillon; great-grandchildren, Josh Miller and Alexis Miller, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathryn Lasseter of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and David Miller of Alto; sons, James Stanley of Alto, Willie Stanley of Royston; sisters, Geneva Loggins of Baldwin; Lucille Baugh of Lula; brother, Lloyd Davidson of Lula; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; special uncle, Doug Ramey of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. April 1 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment followed in the Wade Family Cemetery.

Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, of Baldwin was in charge of the arrangements.
