Lillian R. Slaton, 79, of Dawsonville, died June 19, 2015.

Born June 4, 1936 in Lumpkin County, to the late Ben and Carrie Hollifield, she had lived in Dawson County since 1999, having moved from Marietta.

Mrs. Slaton was employed by Sears in Marietta for more than 30 years, after which she worked for the Cobb County Sheriff's Department.

She was a member of Silver City Baptist Church, and was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.

Four sisters and three brothers preceded Lillian in death.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Joe Slaton of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Pam Slaton of Dallas; grandchildren, Brad and Melissa Slaton, Tiffany Slaton; great-grandchildren, Bennett Slaton and Carter Slaton; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 22 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Biddy officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
