Leonard "Dock" Martin, 70, died Feb. 24, 2014.

Mr. Martin was a family man who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. Dock was known for his contagious laugh and loving to joke.

His parents, Davis and Myrtleen Martin; daughter, Lisa Martin; son, Eugene Martin; and four brothers, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Martin of Dawsonville; children, Eddie and Toni Martin of Ball Ground, Dr. Joyce M. Nations, Bryan and Germain Martin, all of Dawsonville, Miranda and Bobby Satterfield of Hiram; siblings, Reba Atkins of Cordele, W.H. Martin of Dawsonville, Nettie Ree McKinney of Abbeville, Opal Curtis of Canton, Reuben Martin of Ball Ground, Thelma Cronan of Canton, Velma Elzey of Cumming; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Bradley Elzey and Ruel McKinney officiating. Interment followed in Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sosebee Funeral Home of Canton was in charge of the arrangements.
