Lee E. Pittman, 84, of Dawsonville, died May 7, 2010.
Born Feb. 5, 1926 in Walton County to the late David and Mattie Pittman, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 42 years having moved from Atlanta.
Mr. Pittman was employed for 27 years by Warren Refrigeration Company, after which, along with his wife, owned and operated a cattle and poultry farming operation until his retirement.
He served on the board of directors for Sawnee EMC for 23 years, was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, was past master of Chestatee Lodge #102 F & AM, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
His sisters, Lois Payne and Marie Walston, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Fostelle Pittman of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Delores Pittman of Dawsonville, Farrel Neil and Debbie Pittman of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kenneth Lee and Laura Pittman of Dawsonville, Mary-Katherine Pittman, Elizabeth Garnet Pittman, both of Gainesville; seven great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. May 9 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Herring and Dr. Orin Sampson officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
