Lee Ayers, 66, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 14, 2017.

Born Feb. 25, 1950, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Lee owned and operated Amen Automotive, and he formerly served as pastor of Crystal Springs Church of God of Prophecy in Cherokee County and The Winder Church of God of Prophecy.

Lee was a United States Army veteran, where he served in the Green Berets and was very devoted to his family and serving the Lord.

He was a member of Winds of Peace Fellowship.

His father, Walter Lee Ayers Sr.; and a grandson, Abram Ayers, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years. Wanda Ayers of Dawsonville; children, Josh and Dori Ayers, Sonshine Ayers, Caleb and Charla Ayers, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Beckham Ayers, Eliana Ayers; mother, Etta Ayers of Dawsonville; sisters, Frances Lester, Shirley Hulett, both of Dawsonville, Joyce Waters of Cleveland; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Panter, James Kanaday and Jason Hamby officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
