L.D. Seitz, 80, of Dahlonega, died April 21, 2013.

Born May 1, 1932 in Lumpkin County to the late John and Pearl Seitz, Mr. Seitz lived a large part of his life in Forsyth County before moving back to Dahlonega for the last seven years.

In addition to his parents, his brothers, C.J. Seitz, Charlie Seitz, Johnny Seitz, C.F. Seitz, Dean Seitz; and sisters, Edna Seabolt and Lizzie Belle Bearden, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of more than 60 years, Mary Thomason Seitz of Dahlonega; sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Seitz of Dahlonega, Robert and Michelle Seitz of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Roger Townley of Cumming, Linda and Norris Hughes, Vanessa and Lamar Day, all of Dawsonville; brother, Carlton Seitz of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 23 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Brody Hughes, Johnathan Seitz, Austin Seitz and Roger Townley officiating. Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
