LB Honea, 83, of Cumming, died Aug. 9, 2012.
Mr. Honea was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County.
He served his country in the Korean War, being stationed in Germany.
He retired from Lockheed Aircraft Inc. after 38 years of service. He was an avid farmer and gardener, in which he enjoyed working until shortly before his death.
He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
His parents, Buell and Leona Honea; and his sister, Dorothy H. Smith, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eulene Silver Honea of Cumming; children and spouses, Randy and Susan Honea, Sandra and Wayne Benefield, Kim and Debbie Honea, all of Cumming, Deloris and Wendell Bagwell of Gainesville; grandchildren and spouses, Alison B. and Terry Jack Smith, Randy Honea Jr. and fiancé Amanda Lilly, Joshua and Christin Bagwell, Lauren H. and Tim Jackson, Dusty and Danielle Benefield, Mary Beth Benefield; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sawyer Smith, Layla and Haley Jackson; sister, Sarah H. Hood of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Noell Honea of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at Concord Baptist Church with the Revs. Glen Byrd, Danny Bennett and Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. Remains were placed in state at the church at 2:30 p.m. Interment followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Embracing Hospice of Cumming, 8015 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
