Laura Long, 31, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 10, 2017.

Born June 21, 1985, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County and a 2003 graduate of Dawson County High School.

Long possessed a special love for animals.

Her father, James Long, Jr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Sandy Long of Dawsonville; aunt, Beth Marshall of Hartville, Mo.; cousins, Christopher Oliver of San Diego, Calif., Jason Caudy of Springfield, Mo.; best friend, Stacey Stephenson Bailey of Navarre, Fla.; and special friend, Melissa Edge.

A farewell ceremony was held at McKees Chapel United Methodist Church.

Bearden Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
