Larry G. Lynn, 74, of Dawsonville died Sept. 19, 2014.

Born July 25, 1940 in Belmont, N.C. to the late Campbell "Doc" and Blanche Lynn, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years having moved from Gastonia, N.C.

Mr. Lynn spent more than 20 years serving his country in the U. S. Navy, the Air National Guard and retired from the U. S. Army.

Delete - Merge UpFollowing his retirement from the military he was an officer for the Charlotte City Police Department for many years. He was an active member of the Dawson County American Legion Post 247 and was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard "Buddy" Lynn.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Juanita Lynn of Dawsonville; children, Terry and Sharon Lynn of Ft. Mill, S.C., Jeannie Perlov, Rock Hill, S.C., Jessica Lynn, Clover, S.C.; grandchildren, Brandon Lynn, Savannah Perlov, Hayden Perlov; brother, Jack Lynn, Lexington, N.C.; numerous other relatives also survive.

A memorial service was held Sept. 23, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Home in Charlotte. N.C.

A local memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 26 at Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Dawson County American Legion, c/o Jerry Grogan, 6185 Jewell Bennett Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
