Katherine Coleman, 83, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 17, 2017.

Born Aug. 15, 1933 in Milton, to the late John Henry and Wessie Blake, she had lived in Dawson County for the past four months, having moved from Alpharetta.

A homemaker at her death, Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a wonderful Christian woman.

She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Johns Creek.

Her husband, Lawrence Coleman; son, Marshall Coleman; sister, Mildred Jameson; and a brother, Forest Blake, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Teresa Coleman of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Shannon and Ron Brown, Ryan Coleman, all of Cumming; great-granddaughters, Emily Brown, Catelyn Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Marvin Lord of Cumming, Betty and James Womack of Covington; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at noon Jan. 19 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Johnny Purcell, Mickey Wheeler and Sam Rickett officiating. Interment followed at 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
