June Young, 79, of Dawsonville, died March 8, 2015.

Born Aug. 6, 1935 in Dawson County to the late Elmer and Juanita Wigington, she lived a number of years in Pickens County before returning to Dawson County.

Mrs. Young was a former home builder and later she spent more than 15 years as a caregiver.

She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Her husband, W. T. "Pete" Young; children, Kevin Phillips, Carolyn Joan Phillips; brothers, Larry Wigington, Jimmy Wigington and Don Wigington, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Danny Phillips of Lexington, Ky., Rickey and Elaine Phillips of Gainesville, Dwight Phillips of Buford; sisters, Mary Sue Lisenby of Dawsonville, Gail Pearce of Dahlonega; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. March 11 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Flowers, Mike Gaines and Randall Woody officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
