Joseph Lloyd "Joe" Young, 66, of Bowdon, died Dec 22, 2008.

Mr. Young was born in Randolph County, Ala. Aug. 10, 1942 to Gus and Murrah Butler Young.

He was a retired grading contractor, having owned and operated Young's Equipment Services in Dawsonville.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and Heaton Lodge F&AM in Graham, Ala., where he was a 32nd degree Mason.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his father, Gus Young; son, Joey Young; granddaughter, Savannah Young.

Survivors include his wife, Myric Marlow Young; sons and daughter-on-law, Keith Young of Dawsonville, Chuck and Kathy Young of Bowdon; mother, Murrah Young of Heflin, Ala.; grandchildren, Seth, Amos, Will, Raina, Alex, Ashley, Nick and Anthony Young; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Donnie Suggs of Coldwater, Ala.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emory and Wilma Marlow of Bowdon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Patsy Marlow of Bowdon; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony McManus officiating. Music was furnished by Susan Gibbs and Bart Cater.

Interment followed in the church cemetery with the Rev. Darnell Teal conducting the graveside services.

Rainwater Funeral Home of Bowdon was in charge of the arrangements.
