Joseph Jude "Joe" Dumphy, 15, of Dawsonville, died July 26, 2015.

Born June 10, 2000 in Dallas, Texas, Joe had lived in Forsyth County for the past 11 years.

He was a rising sophomore at North Forsyth High School, where he was a member of the varsity golf team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Joe was also a member of Chestatee Golf Club and played on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.

He was truly a Christian at heart, as he put his heart and soul into everything he did with dedication and an incredible work ethic. Even in his death, Joe was able to make an impact with the donation of five of his organs to others in need, so that they may live.

His grandfather, John Joseph Dumphy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents, Charles F. "Charley" and Deborah A. "Deb" Dumphy of Dawsonville; sister, Olivia Dumphy of Dawsonville; grandparents, Elizabeth A. "Betsy" Dumphy of Cumming, Janice Nixon of Plymouth, Mass., Charles and Patti Michaud of Fall River, Mass.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 31 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming with the Frs. Frank Richardson and Charles Dumphy officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to "The Joe Dumphy Memorial Golf Scholarship," c/o Moore Wealth Management, 210 Washington St., NW, Suite 106, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
