Johnny P. Moon Sr., 65, of Hillside, Wyo., died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.

  

Mr. Moon was born Oct. 17, 1944 in Atlanta and had lived in the area since 1971.

  

Johnny lived in Dawsonville for a short while, graduating from high school there in 1965.

  

He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1986 working as a flight line worker.

  

Mr. Moon also worked for civil service as a peacekeeper missile system worker, and was a member of the American Legion Post 6, Disabled American Veterans and the Moose Lodge.

  

His two wives, Barbara Jean Moon and Susie Moon; his son, Johnny P. Moon Jr. and father, John T. Moon, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his daughter, Ann Marie Moon of Cheyenne; mother, Annie S. Moon of Georgia; four brothers, Harvey, Frank, David and Jimmy Moon, all of Georgia; two sisters, Dixie Le Moon and Nancy Gilbert, both of Georgia; stepchildren; step grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

  

The American Legion Honor Guard will provide military honors.

  

A local service is planned for early next year. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may contribute to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
