Johnny Lee Chester, 64, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 25, 2016.

Born July 8, 1952 to the late Hosie "Bodig" and Vera Chester, Johnny was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

He worked as a dry wall finisher.

Johnny was a devoted husband, father and was especially devoted to his grandchildren.

He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

His brother, Don Chester, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Chester of Dawsonville; children, Stacy and Teresa Chester of Dawsonville, Lisa and Tim Bowling of Gainesville; grandchildren, Harley Marrett, Morgan Chester, Cayson Chester, Kaitlyn Chester; sister, Joan Chester Ashmore of Dawsonville; brother-in-law, Roger Chambers of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Pilcher officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
