Johnny Clayton Mathis, 57, of Cumming, died Jan. 15, 2016.

Johnny was born in Forsyth County on June 6, 1958 to the late Clayton and Eva Grace Mathis.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Johnny will be missed dearly.

One brother and three sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Mathis of Cumming; children, Jeffery Chitwood, Jason Chitwood, both of Dawsonville, Ann Benfield of Clarksville; grandchildren, Harleigh and Chloey Chitwood, both of Ball Ground, Tanner and Makayla Benfield, both of Clarksville; sisters, Mary Mathis of Buford, Annie Mills of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Cantrell and Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Jan. 20.

Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
