Johnathen "John" Satterfield, 17, of Gainesville, died April 23, 2014.

Born Jan. 1, 1997, John was a lifelong resident of Hall County.

He was a junior at Chestatee High School and enjoyed participating in chorus and playing football. He especially liked spending time with his friends and he attended the Athens Highway Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Felecia and Cecil Padgett of Gainesville; father and stepmother, Charles and Kay Satterfield of Oakwood; sister, Angel Satterfield of Dawsonville; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Satterfield of Cleveland, Charles "Lucas" and Darby Satterfield of Athens; nieces, Lilly Satterfield, Emma Satterfield, Alexandria Satterfield; nephews, Hunter Satterfield, Hayden Satterfield, Hagen Satterfield; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. April 27 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mike Thomas and Glenn Ladd officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to assist with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
