John Andrew Makosky, 84, of Cumming, died Feb. 3, 2019.

Born July 24, 1934 in Montville, N.J. to the late John and Mary Makosky, Mr. Makosky lived in Alpharetta for over 30 years before moving to the Oaks at Hampton in 2017. 

After a long career in the automotive industry, John retired from Webb Wheel Products in 1999. A U.S. Army veteran, John was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

His wife of 62 years, Joan Colette Makosky; and son, John David Makosky, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Sharon and Terry Martin of Dawsonville, Diane and Dan Rennell of Rogers, Ark.; six grandchildren, Laura and Joe Grossman, Kevin Martin, Justin Rennell, Courtney Rennell, Evan and Alexis Rennell, Hannah Rennell; and sister, Dorothy Makosky of Montville, N.J.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
