Joann H. Leonard, 82, of Dawsonville, died April 12, 2017.
Born Aug. 2, 1934 in Floyd County to the late Henry H. and Mary Lou Haney, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 38 years, having moved from Austell.
Joann worked in the Magnolia Room at Rich's, where she retired after more than 20 years of service.
For eight years, she served as an officer in the Atlanta Police Department.
Her husband of 45 years, Alford E. Leonard; sisters, Geraldine Terry, Cora Mae Purdy; and brothers, James Haney and Joseph Haney, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Brenda and Ron Chumbley of Dawsonville, Dennis and Denise Leonard of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Debra Jo and Kevin Guess of Canton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. April 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Interment services followed at 2 p.m. in the Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
