Joann Chester Harrison, 72, of Braselton passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton.
Born May 9, 1948, in Lumpkin County to the late Coy and Vivian Chester, she had lived in Braselton for the past 8 years having moved from Dawsonville. Joann retired as a distribution clerk for Roadway Trucklines after over 20 years of service. She loved and was very devoted to her faith in God, and to her family, especially her grandsons. She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the beach and shopping. A member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Chester.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Greg Hunsinger, Braselton; grandsons, Dalton Hunsinger, Jonah Hunsinger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Scott Clayton, Dahlonega, Paulette and Jimmy Gee of Dawsonville, Donna and Johnny Thomas of Dawsonville; brothers and sister-in-law, L.D. and Brenda Chester of Dahlonega, Kenny Chester of McKee, Ky.; her companion of many years, Tony Herring of Winder; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kris Butler and Rev. Russell Burt officiated. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, the family requests that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
