Jimmy L. Jones, 79, of Dawsonville, died July 24, 2012.

Born May 28, 1933, to the late Irvin and Lula Jones, he had lived in Dawsonville for the past 28 years. Mr. Jones retired as a truck driver from Yellow Freight System in Marietta after 38 years of service.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Beckey Jones of Dawsonville; children, Kenneth and Debbie Jones, Connie and Mike Riley, Christina Warner; grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Emily, Sean, Dylan, Ashlyn, Makailyn, Andrew; great-grandchild, Jones; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. July 29 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Baker, David Clark and Kenneth Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta, GA 30329-2012 or www.diabetes.org/honor.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
