Jimmy Charles Early, 63, died July 10, 2018.
Jimmy was born in Lumpkin County on Jan. 13, 1955 to the late James Edward and Laverne Lance Early. Jimmy was a mail carrier for 28 years in Lumpkin County. He loved to fish and work on his old cars. Jimmy was affectionately called “Papas” by his grandchildren. He was a member of Cavenders Creek Baptist Church.
His parents and stepson, Joey Adams, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Elliott of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Frankie Henson of Canton; brother, Brian Early of Dahlonega; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Sabra and Rex Cain of Dahlonega; stepdaughter Starr Elliott of Dawsonville; grandchildren, C.J. Carney, Angel Cain, Justin Cain, Kennedy Norton and Callie Adams; nephew, Brent Henson; great-nephew, Fin Henson; several other nieces, nephews and relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. July 13, 2018 in the Banister Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Stephen Adams officiating. Interment followed in the Bethlehem-Jones Chapel Cemetery.
The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 12 at the funeral home.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
