Jesse Lee Murphy, 88, of Cumming, died Oct. 2, 2011.

He is retired from business. Jessie is a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a loyal member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy "Billie" Murphy of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Senator Jack Murphy and wife Linda of Cumming; grandchildren, Steaven and Gillian Murphy, John M. and Lynn Murphy, Brian M. Murphy, David and Susan Potter, Brian and Brenda Potter, Julie Ellington; several great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 5 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
