Jeanne Castle, 65, of Dawsonville, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.

Born Aug. 13, 1944 in Flushing, N.Y. to the late Frank and Francine Arena, Jeanne grew up and lived many years in California prior to moving to Dahlonega in 1998 and to Dawson County five years ago.

She was a licensed practical nurse for 37 years and worked several years at Gold City Convalescent Center before being employed by Longstreet Clinic Pediatrics until she retired.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Keith Bishop of Dawsonville; Drs. Liesa and Hal Hill of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., Rhonda and Jason Brewer of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Carolyn Montgomery of Elizabethtown, Colo.; grandchildren, Stephanie Bishop, Kellie Bishop, Scott Hill, Audrey Jeanne Hill, Helena Brewer; various other relatives also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at Christ Redeemer Catholic Church, 991 Kilough Church Road, Dawsonville, with the Msgr. Stephen Churchwell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Suite 114, Gainesville, GA 30501.
