Janet Diane Ziegler, 64, of Big Canoe, died Sept. 3, 2011.

She was a graduate of McEachern High School and retired from Lockheed Aircraft after 21 years of service.

Her father, Wallace Wilson and mother, Ruby M. Wilson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Philip G. Ziegler of Big Canoe; her son, Tim Alexander of Birmingham, Ala.; stepdaughter, Kathy Nicholson of Woodstock; stepson, Rick Ziegler of Canton; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby D. Wilson, Dale W. Wilson, both of Marietta; sister, Joan D. Holtzclaw of Douglasville; various other relatives also survive.

A family celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Big Canoe Animal Rescue Shelter, 10676 Big Canoe, Jasper, GA 30143.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
