Janeen Kay Stanley, 60, of Eufaula, Ala., died Nov. 17, 2012.

Born Feb. 12, 1952 in Harriman, Tenn., Mrs. Stanley was the daughter of the late Daniel Raymond and Ina Louise Fritz Pichon Jr.

Mrs. Stanley moved to Eufaula when she was in the ninth grade and she graduated from Eufaula High School as part of the Class of 1970.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in special education from Troy State University in 1990 and began her career as a teacher of students with special needs.

She was on the faculty of Western Heights Elementary School and Eufaula Primary School for more than 22 years.

She was a privileged member of the Christ Child Circle, where she served as president in 1990.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eufaula for more than 46 years, taking on many leadership roles in the congregation, as well as serving as teacher or group leader for children, youth and adults.

She was particularly interested in missions, both locally and internationally.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Stanley of Eufaula, Ala.; two sons, Andrew and Sarah Stanley of Auburn, Ala., Paul Stanley of Eufaula, Ala.; two brothers, Dan and Sue Pichon, Gary and Catherine Pichon, both of Marble Hill; three grandchildren, Anna Stanley, Sally Jane Stanley and Louise Stanley; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 20 at the First United Methodist Church with the Dr. Robbins Sims officiating.

Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula was in charge of the arrangements.
