Jane Cox, 68, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 10, 2018.

Jane was a lifelong member at Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Cumming where she served as the pianist and worshipped the Lord through her music ministry. She wrote approximately 50 songs about her Lord and Savior. Jane served her community by singing and playing at many church services, revivals, weddings and funerals.

She was a loving and faithful servant, wife, mother, nana, sister and friend. Most of all, Jane passionately loved her grandchildren and adored every second that she served as their Nana. Jane will dearly be missed.

Her father, Waldon Mundy; first husband, Robert Cheek; father -in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Nelle Cox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Lane Cox, Jake Mullinax, and Herbert and Sara Roper, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Douglas Cox; mother, Jimmie Sue Mundy; children, Jennifer Cox and Chad McElwaney, Natalie and Josh Carpenter, Benjamin and Kelli Cox; brothers and sister-in-law, Barry and Sheiron Mundy and Paul and Doris Mundy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Joyce Smith, Lamar and Judy Roper, Greg and Kaye Cox, Deanna Mullinax, Ralph and Fran Gravitt, Judy Cox, Andrew and Anita Bearden; grandchildren, Justin Cox, Hailey Rickett, Hannah Rickett, Jacson Rickett, Jordan Cox, and Allie Cox; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 at Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Cumming with Rev. Gary Martin, Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Larry Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Coal Mountain Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 12 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Dec. 13 at the funeral home.

Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of arrangements.
