Jane Burton Edwards Gilreath, 71, of Dawsonville, died July 17, 2011.

Born May 19, 1940 in Suwanee to the late Howard and Irene Burton, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 10 years having moved from Lawrenceville.

A member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford, Ms. Jane was a loving lady who always gave of herself and had the ability to make everyone around her feel special.

Her husband, Herbert Gilreath, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Edwards of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Beverly Edwards of Suwanee; father of her children, Marvin Edwards of Lawrenceville; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Ineal Burton of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. July 21 at the Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. The body will be placed in state at the church at noon. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
