James V. Grindle, 77, of Gainesville, died April 4, 2015.
James loved his church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, was a member of Mt. Zion Lodge No. 316 F&M and worked in commercial construction for more than 35 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family, who loved to laugh and make others laugh.
He also enjoyed woodworking, hiking and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Waldrip Grindle of Gainesville; children, Tammy Grindle Rowland of Woodstock, Lori Grindle and Reg Martin of Gainesville, Kevin Brian Grindle and Amanda Grogan of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Shryl Grindle and Kenneth Holtzclaw; grandchildren, Adam Nix Martin, Justin Brian Martin, James Brady Grindle, Matison Eliza Grindle; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 7 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Jeff Wilkie, Scott Sorrells and Jimmy Hogan officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
