James Michael Mickey Sheffield

James Michael "Mickey" Sheffield, 55, of Cumming, died Oct. 24, 2012.

Born Feb. 17, 1957 in Gainesville, he had lived in Forsyth County for the past 25 years.

Mr. Sheffield was a supervisor for Lafarge where he had been employed for more than 35 years. Mickey possessed a passion for hunting, fishing and any outdoor sporting.

He was a loving father, son, brother and a wonderful "Papa Mickey" to his grandchildren.

His father, Clarence Sheffield, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Vaughn of Pendergrass, Tascha and David Franklin of Murrayville; mother, Evelyn Thompson Sheffield of Cumming; grandchildren, Tyler Vaughn, Cody Vaughn, Jada Lovell, Kenzie Hullett, Maddie Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Adriana Sheffield of Cumming, Ronnie and Monica Sheffield of Alto, Steven and Wendy Sheffield of Suwanee; mother of his children and dear friend, Wanda Rider of Gainesville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rodney Pilcher and Kipper Tabb officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
