James M. Holman

James M. Holman, 70, of Dahlonega, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.

 

 

Born in Monterey, Tenn., he had lived in Lumpkin County for the past year having moved from Cumming. For many years, Mr. Holman worked as an automobile mechanic, after which he was employed by Pacific Electric and then by Phillips and Brooks until his retirement.

 

 

He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Green.

 

 

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janie Sue Holman of Dahlonega; children, James and Peggy Holman, Cindy LaFrance, Patty and Lewis Sullens, all of Dahlonega, Dona and Kevin Bowen of Cumming; sister-in-law, Tricia Barnes of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; grandchildren, Winston Scott, J.C. Holman, Kimberly Holman, Greg Scott, Wesley Scott, Alex Bowen, Beth Scott, Jackson Sullens; various other relatives also survive.

 

 

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Anderson officiating.

 

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
