James H. Ledbetter, 82, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 13, 2017.
Born Dec. 15, 1934 in Dawson County to the late Farish and Annie Mae Ledbetter, he lived in Marietta for 40 years, before returning to Dawson County.
James retired as an electronics systems technician for Lockheed after 30 years of service.
He was a member and served as a deacon of Amicalola Baptist Church. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was very devoted to his family and was active in the community through his commitment to the church.
Mr. Ledbetter was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
His sister, Wynell Chumbley; and brothers, Hubert "Pete" Ledbetter and G.W. Ledbetter, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Fields Ledbetter of Dawsonville; children, Teresa Langston of Dallas, Cindy and David Cole of Acworth, Timothy Ledbetter of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Langston, Cara and Alex Belvo, Kaley Hammonds, Aidan Cole; great-grandchildren, Kensley Belvo, Tristan Belvo; sisters and brother-in-law, Aline Stephens Eulalie and Johnny Philyaw, all of Dawsonville; brother and sisters-in-law, Loye and Delores Ledbetter, Marcelle Ledbetter, all of Dawsonville, Lois Ledbetter of Jasper; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Jan. 16 at Amicalola Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Stradley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
