James G. "Greg" DeLong, 63, of Deland, Fla., died March 13, 2015.

Greg was born May 6, 1951 in Cumming.

He was a member of Sand Hill Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

He was passionate about his family and friends and always enjoyed being in their company.

Greg was a kind and helping person who was always willing to take care of others. He was well known and respected throughout the community.

He owned and operated Greg DeLong Stucco and Lathe and was in the construction industry since 1987 in central Florida.

Greg graduated from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida.

He was loved by his family and many friends.

His parents, John DeLong and Carol Whitaker; and brother, John "Tony" DeLong, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy DeLong; daughter, Heather Delong of Deland, Fla.; son, Brian Dawson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Brown, Sandy and Rick Kritikos, Daren DeLong; grandchildren, Haley DeLong-Neal, James Anthony DeLong-Neal, Kyra DeLong-Neal; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. March 23 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Sorrels officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
