James "Donny" Shelton II, 45, of Cumming, died Jan. 4, 2017.
Born June 9, 1971, Donny had been a resident of Cumming for most of his life.
A 1990 graduate of Forsyth County High School, he had been employed by Windstream Communications for the past 10 years.
He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father and grandfather.
His grandmothers, Katie Shelton and Sue Meadows, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Lynn Shelton of Cumming; children, Andrew Shelton of Dawsonville, Ansley and Bret Parham of Dahlonega, Chase Samples of Cumming; parents, Don and JoAnn Shelton of Cumming; granddaughters, Brooklyn Parham; sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Jeff Harwood of Cumming; nephews, Hudson and Cayden Harwood; various other relatives also survive.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 12 at Bearden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help offset final expenses.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
