James Archie McPherson, 58, of Cumming, died Dec. 19, 2010.

 

Archie attended Friendship Baptist Church where he was a member of the finance committee, the choir and Sweet Assurance Sunday School Class.

 

He was also a Mason in the Ducktown Lodge #572 F&AM.

 

He was also a girls' softball coach for many years, where he won many state championships and a fourth place world championship.

 

His son, Greg McPherson; parents, James Monroe and Eula Smith McPherson; and father-in-law, Ivan A. McBrayer, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Rebecca McPherson; daughter and son-in-law, Kasey and Chris Chester; mother-in-law, Elvira McBrayer; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlene Lathem and Barbara and Jerry Bagley, all of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Dec. 21 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Byrd, Bud Sutton and Donnie McGee officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
