James A. "Jimmy" Lewis

James A. "Jimmy" Lewis, 62, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009.

  

Born Jan. 22, 1947 in Sylvania, Ga., to the late Junior and Lucy Lewis, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years, having moved from Snellville.

  

Mr. Lewis for many years was a warehouse supervisor for Coats & Clark and was employed by A One Box Company until his retirement.

  

He possessed a passion for gardening and woodworking and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

  

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Zelma Lewis of Dawsonville; children, James A. "Jim" Lewis, Robin Pruett, Amy Arons, all of Dawsonville, Elizabeth Lehan of Cumming; brothers, Johnny Lewis of Loganville, Steve Lewis of Dallas, Kim Lewis of Alpharetta; sister, Lynn Courson of Kingsled; 10 grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Dean Pugh and Jackie Stowers officiating.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
