Jackie Pickering, 52, of Dawsonville, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008.

  

Born in Alma, she had lived in Dawson County for over 20 years, having moved from Forsyth County.

  

Mrs. Pickering was lead manager for nutrition service at Robinson Elementary School and Dawson County Middle School and had been employed by the school system for 15 years.

  

She was a member of Kilough Church by the Lake and was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Johnson and sister, Carolyn Daniel.

  

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, David Pickering of Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Stacie and Kevin Tanner of Dawsonville; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Tanner, Abbie Tanner and Chloe Tanner; stepmother, Ellen Johnson of Dawsonville; father, Carroll Johnson of Alma; sister, Jan Tinsley of Hazelhurst; mother-in-law, Martha Pickering of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Stephen Davis and Scott Sorrels officiating.

  

Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
