Jack Lisenby, 75, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 21, 2013.
Born May 13, 1938 in Newville, Ala. to the late Irvin and Annie Merle Lisenby, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 17 years, having moved from Winder.
Mr. Lisenby served four years in the U.S. Navy, after which he served 16 years in the U.S. Coast Guard until his retirement. He held a bachelor's degree in business and accounting and was a master woodworker. Jack was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Belle Watson, Sandra Warren; and brothers, Bill Lisenby, James Lisenby and Grover Lisenby.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lisenby of Dawsonville; children, Jack A. Lisenby of Melbourne, Fla., Lonnie Lisenby of Lawrenceville, Tina Lisenby of Georgia, Karen Layman of Jefferson; sisters, Annie Mae Evans of Plant City, Fla., Inez Millines of Dothan, Ala.; brothers, Alton Lisenby of Plant City, Fla., Will Lisenby of Milton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Flowers officiating.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
