Ivan Franklin Holbrook, 80, of Cumming, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009.

  

Mr. Holbrook was born Oct. 30, 1928 in Forsyth County. He was the son of the late W. Perry Holbrook and Mary Eula Brooks Holbrook. His sister, Jessie Lucille Holbrook; and a brother, Lewis Wilborn Holbrook, preceded him in death.

  

Mr. Holbrook was a member of Pleasant Grove UMC in Cumming. He was a merchant in Cumming and owned Holbrook Hardware and Sporting Goods. Mr. Holbrook was also retired from Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Company in 1994.

  

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sara Ellen Fowler Holbrook of Cumming; children, Janie Holbrook, Melinda H. and Travis Barrett, Anthony "Andy" Holbrook and Joanne D. Holbrook and Lorri H. Sosebee; grandchildren, Jessica Holbrook Tanner and husband, Matt, Emily P. Holbrook, Richard Barrett, Ellen Barrett, Kayla J. Sosebee and Lucas B. Sosebee; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Grayson Threet and Olivia Reagan Tanner; brother, Jack Holbrook and wife, Ruth; sister-in-law, Hazel H. Holbrook; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Myra Fowler, Bill and Frances Fowler, James and Pat Fowler; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Bennett, Rick Price and David Tinsley officiating.

  

Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
