Irene Myrtie Mills Hamby

Irene Myrtie Mills Hamby, 78, a native of Forsyth County, died Nov. 12, 2010.

 

Irene was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, J.L. Hamby; and great-grandson, Charles Tate Todd.

 

Survivors include her children, Opal and Sam Dodd of Canton, Judy Worley, Ricky Hamby Sr., both of Cumming, Rex and Kim Hamby of Dawsonville; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Imogene Mills of Baldwin, Irene and Bob McKinney of Loganville, Helen Hansen of Kansas, Louise and Oliver Kelly of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ruel Martin, Dennis Bottoms and Garry English officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

 

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
