Howard R. “Bob” Schmidt, 67, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 15, 2011.

His son, Kurt; parents, Howard and Lila; father-in-law, John Jackovich, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Bob and Lisa Schmidt, Craig and Jennifer Schmidt; grandchildren, Chantal, Brendan, Hailey, Autumn, Caston and Colton Schmidt, Erika and James Slago; great-granddaughter, Sonya Schmidt; sister, Elizabeth McGill; nephew, John McGill; mother-in-law, Pauline Jackovich; various other relatives also survive.

A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Jan. 21 at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Parish, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, Mich., with the Fr. Ron Anderson officiating. Interment followed in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield.

The family requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
