Horace Gene Bennett, 55, of Dawsonville, died March 21, 2015.

Horace was a gentle giant, a simple content country man with a heart of gold that never met a stranger and loved everyone.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristy Barnes of Jasper; son, Todd Bennett of Alabama; sisters and brothers, Rachel Patrick, Angela McClain, Brad Bennett, all of Dawsonville, Steve Bennett of Gainesville; grandchildren, Hunter Barnes, Brooke Barnes; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 24 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Patrick officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
