Hilda H. Cox, 93, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 25, 2018.
Born July 24, 1924 to the late Bill and Ludie Hogan in Rebecca, Georgia, Hilda had been a resident of Dawsonville since 1982, coming from Dekalb County.
Ms. Cox retired after teaching in Georgia Public School Systems for 32 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was very active in other church activities. For many years she was a member of the Dawson County Woman’s Club and Dawson County Chamber of Commerce.
Her husband, Olin Cox, and three siblings, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Rick Medlock of Dawsonville; Ricky Cox of Auburn, Ga.; granddaughters, Regina Medlock of Dawsonville, Rhonda and Michael Heide of New York; great-grandchildren, Briana Paxton, Nikolas and Brooke Medlock, Kaitlyn Paxton, Michael T. Heide; great-great-grandson, Tyler Sperry; special niece, Ragen Medlock; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. March 1 at First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the funeral home.
