Henry Morris Willard, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Forsyth County, died Sunday, March 8, 2009.

  

Mr. Willard was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

  

He retired from Gulf-Chevron Oil Corp. after 34 years of dedicated service and then retired from the City of Cumming Water Department after 10 years of service.

  

He was an active "charter member" of Cumming Baptist Church, past president of the Men's Bible Class, past member of the Forsyth County Planning and Zoning Board, past president and "2008 Shriner of the Year" of the Cumming Shrine Club, member of Lafayette Lodge #44, past president of Forsyth County Jaycees and loved hosting all of the famous country entertainers at the annual Cumming Country Fair for the past 13 years.

  

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Long Willard; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and John Reid of Marietta, Nancy and Gary Carter of Cumming, Susan and Lee Williams of Dawsonville, Sandra Willard Smith of Roswell; grandchildren, Blake Carter and wife Jana, Crystal Penland and husband Joe, Dustin Cheek, Kristopher Repka, Danielle Cheek, Hannah Williams, Morgan Williams; great-grandson, Camden Rariden; sister, Mattie Ruth Stone of Cumming; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Martin of Cumming, Laura Long of San Francisco, Chuck and Mary Long of Atlanta, Melvin Long of Woodstock; nephew, Steve Long of Greenville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Cumming Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Wood, Blake Carter and Gary Martin officiating.

Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

  

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
