Henry Eugene Gene Cobb

The Rev. Henry Eugene "Gene" Cobb, 75, of Cumming, died July 1, 2014.

Gene was a member of County Line Baptist Church and pastored for 45 years at many churches.

He was former Chaplin with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department and was one of the original volunteer firefighters in Forsyth County.

A 32nd degree Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason, he was a member and past master of Alpharetta Lodge No. 235 F&AM and Matt Lodge No. 694 F&AM.

His wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" Cobb; son, Mike Cobb; brothers, Bill Cobb and Roy Cobb, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennie Hamilton of Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Shannon Cobb of Cumming; sister, Libby Adams of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Diane Cobb of Whitesburg, Sara Cobb of Dawsonville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W. Frank Dempsey and Deborah Grizzle; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 5 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
