Hazel Ross Tyson, 71, of Gainesville, and formerly of Lumpkin County, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009.

  

She was born in Lumpkin County, Nov. 13, 1937 and was of the Baptist faith.

  

She was the daughter of the late Leroy Ross and Adelide Adams Ross. Her brothers, Howard Lee Ross and Robert Edward Ross also preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Tony Nix of Gainesville, Teresa and Lloyd Gordon of Tennessee; brothers and sister-in-law, Frankie Ross, Tommy and Connie Ross, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fannie Mae Weidner, Mary Lou and David Hall, Brenda Young and Timmy Floyd, all of Dahlonega, Ruth and Leroy Piper of Marietta; grandchildren, Steven Allen Hoover, Kristi Nix, Brandon Nix, Grant Nix and Jordan Nix; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with the Revs. Levi Nix and Tommy Ross officiating.

  

Interment followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

  

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
