Harvey Roy Moon, 72, husband of Nancy Beck Moon, entered into rest Monday, October 28, 2019, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Mr. Moon, son of the late Annie Bell Summerour Moon and John Thomas Moon of Dawsonville, Georgia, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Dawsonville. He graduated from Dawson County High School, Class of 1966, where he also played varsity basketball for the Dawson County Tigers and won awards as a member of 4-H and the Future Farmers of America. He also was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Moon was a 22-year veteran of the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. He then worked at Snyder Dental Clinic at Fort Gordon for 30 years. He was known for his sense of humor and his big heart, and he will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nathan Moon and Melanie Moon; his brothers, Frank Moon, Jimmy Moon, and David Moon; and his sisters, Nancy Moon Gilbert, and her husband Wayne, and Dixie Farrell.

Mr. Moon will be laid to rest at New Bethel Baptist Church in Dawsonville, following a memorial service for family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m.
