Harold Dean Smith, 65, of Cumming, died Nov. 25, 2017. 

A deacon and member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Noah and Dorothy Cain.

His brothers, Marvin Leonard Smith and James Calvin Smith; and sister, Elizabeth Bolton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Smith of Cumming; children, Rita Carolyn (Dustin) Wright of Dawsonville, Jamie Ben Smith of Cumming; brothers, Earl (Joyce) Smith of Cumming, Robert Smith of Cumming; sister, Julia (Clyde) Flannigan of Cumming; grandchildren, Addeline Wright, Camden Smith, Sara Kate Smith, Abigail Wright, Greyson Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells, Rev. Ruel Martin, Rev. Jerry McCormick and Rev. Paul Bagley officiating.

Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at Ingram Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Nov. 26 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Nov. 27.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of arrangements.
